Birdwatching in Grafarvogur - Hiking trips with Science tips
Migratory birds are the true indicator of spring in Iceland. Sölvi Rúnar Vignisson, doctoral student and teacher at the University of Iceland will guide the tour with other ornithologists on the beach in Grafarvogur. This is a great spot in Reykjavík to see these birds as they gather on the beach in the spring.
Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars and even books on birds.
The tour is a collaboration between the Icelandic Touring Association and the University of Iceland. Hiking trips with Science tips was first launched in 2011 to celebrate the University of Iceland's centennial.
Participation is free of charge and everyone is welcome. No need to book - simply show up.
Rendez-vous at 1 pm at the Grafarvogur church where you can park.
