Application and process

All applications for study programmes are made through the Application Portal at the top of this website.

Showing Application portal link in the top of the website in the header.

In our evaluations, we always consider the position of your grade in relation to the minimum passing grade needed for graduation in the home institution grading system and the maximum grade of its grading scale.

Please note that your application will not be valid until the University of Iceland has received certified transcripts of your academic records and degree diplomas, along with any other supporting documents required.

You can find the admission requirements and supporting documents by country here.

The applicant's responsibility is to send all supporting documents required. Application without documents is NOT a valid application.

Note! Scanned or photocopied diplomas are not accepted.

Unfortunately, it is not likely that citizens outside the EEA will be able to start a study programme at the University of Iceland in the spring semester.

This is due to the fact that the Directorate of Immigration requires residence permit applications to be submitted no later than 1 November in order to issue permits before the start of spring semester classes.
