My research focuses on infant and child nutrition, its determinants and associations with growth, development and health. I also conduct research in the area of healthy food environments, overall diet and selected nutrients.
I have participated in international and Nordic research projects. My research has contributed to the scientific background for Icelandic and Nordic Nutrition Recommendations (2023), EFSA’s Tolerable Upper Intake Levels for manganese (2023), and generated data used in meta-analyses. I have participated in prospective cohort studies with extensive data collection in the field, utilization of data from official health registries, cross-sectional studies, national dietary surveys, and conducting systematic literature reviews and meta-analyses.
