Abstract

I graduated with a PhD in Educational Psychology from Virginia Tech, USA in 205. As an Associate Professor and Director for Educational Development at the School of Health Sciences at the University of Iceland, I have mainly focused my research on student motivation and self-regulation, as well as teachers´ use of teaching and assessment methods, teacher motivation, and identity. My research projects also include needs assessments of university teachers with the goal of using the results to guide educational development.

Abstract

I am an associate professor in the Department of Education and Diversity at the University of Iceland's School of Education. I completed my PhD in sociology from the University of Iceland in 2018 and have worked at the School of Education since 2019. My research spans from gender identities of young people to disasters and their impact on disabled people. In recent years, my theoretical perspective has mainly been affect, discourse, microaggression and ableism. In my research, I use feminist critical disability theory to understand the reality and experiences of disabled people, using qualitative research methods.
