I am a professor of Music Education at the University of Iceland. I teach music pedagogy for elementary, middle- and high school as well as courses in early childhood music methods. My research focuses on music perception, music reading, music learning and development as well as methods for family music methods in early childhood. I am on the editorial board for the International Journal of Research in Music Education, Music and Science and the Swedish Journal of Music Research. I was lead editor for The Routledge Companion for Interdisciplinary Studies in Singing, Volume II: Education; and am currently the Chair of MERYC Europe (Network for Music Educators and Researchers of Young Children).
