Currently, I´m an Associate Professor at the School of Social Science as well as a doctoral candidate at the School of Education at the University of Iceland. My doctoral project focuses on the role of contemporary craft and craft knowledge in late-modern
Iceland. My overall research interests within Career development theory have included the development of vocational identity and career choice. In educational sciences, sociology of education,
the role and value of craft knowledge and the future of craft education as well as sustainability education are my main fields of interest.
Since I joined academia I have participated in two Nordic research projects; Firstly, an overview of conducted research within career counseling and guidance, and secondly, an overview of research on policy-making in career counseling and guidance in the Nordic countries. Recently I joined the European Cooperation in Science & Technology (COST) project; Critical perspectives on career and career guidance.
