People are asked not to be outside after 5 p.m. today according to the Civil Protection in Iceland. This is due to violent storm or hurricane force winds that are expected throughout most of the country this afternoon and night. All university buildings will be closed at 5 pm. There will be no session in the University gym after 4 p.m.
Should the weather get worse before 5 pm certain doors will be locked; i.e. the connecting corridor between Oddi and Gimli, the door Gimli and Lögberg, the electronic door beside the revolving door in Háskólatorg and the main entrance to the main building.
Tomorrow
The weather situation will be re-evaluated early tomorrow morning. Students and staff are encouraged to follow the news tomorrow from the Civil Protection in Iceland. Staff and students are advised to check the weather conditions before leaving the house. Students will be notified in Ugla, UI website and on Facebook in the event of cancellation of exams.
Otherwise students are encouraged to use public transport and leave well in advance for their exams.
