Absentee voting for the second round of the elections for rector begins on Wednesday 15 April 2015, 1 p.m.
On Monday 13 April 2015, elections took place for the position of rector of the University of Iceland. The candidates were Professor Einar Steingrímsson, Professor Guðrún Nordal and Professor Jón Atli Benediktsson.
Online voting in the elections for the rector of the University of Iceland is currently underway. Polling began at 9 a.m. this morning and will end at 6 p.m.

Absentee voting ends today, Friday 10 April. It will be possible to vote up until 4 p.m. at the information desk in the foyer of the Main Building. Voters must present picture identification.
The Icelandic Science Train is an award winning "mobile university" designed by the University of Iceland for young people that has toured Iceland since 2011.
"Absentee voting begins on Wednesday 1 April 2015, 1 p.m. People will be able to vote at the information desk, located in the foyer of the Main Building," is stated in a notification from 31 March from the Election Board regarding the elections for rector 2015.
