Carpark at Grótta
We explore various organisms on the beach, sift through seaweed, and look for crabs and other small creatures. We examine seaweed and more on a fun beach trip in Grótta, where there is diverse animal, bird, and plant life.
Jóhann Óli Hilmarsson, a well-known bird scientist, will lead the hike with students in biology at the University.
Wellingtons and buckets are essential and a little something to nibble on is a good idea.
The tour is a collaboration between the Icelandic Touring Association and the University of Iceland. Hiking trips with Science tips (Með fróðleik í fararnesti).
Participation is free of charge, and everyone is welcome. No need to book - simply show up.
