A MS degree in engineering, or equivalent. The applicant is required to find a departmental coordinator/supervisor and are advised to contact the department coordinator or/and head of faculty in the field they are interested in to find a supervisor. Required to have an idea for a research project before applying.
An exemption may be granted to applicants who have completed 90-120 ECTS studies at level 6.1, with a research project worth fewer than 30 ECTS, provided that they include in their application an account of research experience which the standing committee deems equivalent to a 30 ECTS research project.
Three year program. 180 credits are required for the Ph.D. dissertation. The doctoral programme is primarily based on the doctoral candidate's independent research, culminating in the dissertation. However, the Ph.D. committee may require the candidate to take courses in addition to the research. Credits for courses are then added to the credits required for the dissertation. Admission requirements are a research oriented MS degree or equivalent. Graduates from related disciplines can be admitted on fulfilling supplementary requirements.
