Clustermarket is a laboratory equipment scheduling and management system used by the Icelandic scientific community. The institutions involved in the selection of the system are: University of Iceland, Reykjavík University, University of Akureyri, Agricultural University of Iceland, Hólar University, Matís and IceTec

As of 2024 the system is being implemented within UI and partner institutions.

IRIS (Icelandic Research Information System) is a research portal that displays the research activities of Icelandic universities and affiliated institutions. The system is managed by the National and University Library of Iceland and gives insight into research output and the societal dissemination of knowledge generated through research conducted in Iceland. It showcases research activity at the level of individual researchers, institutions, and academic fields, as well as in collaborative efforts among scholars, artists, and scientists within an international context. The IRIS information system is under development and will continue to evolve as the project progresses, including the addition of an Icelandic language interface.
The research infrastructure module is under development.

the University of Iceland Science Park is preparing the construction of a centralised research infrastructure building, the Deep Tech Centre.

The primary objectives of the Deep Tech Centre are to promote shared resources, improve accessibility, and increase operational efficiency of research infrastructure for academic research and startups.

A portion of the building will be dedicated to research space, while general office space will also be available. Current plans designate 5,500 square meters for research spaces and related facilities, and 3,700 square meters for office spaces.

The design of the building is scheduled to go out for tender in fall 2024, with construction expected to begin by mid-2025.

The Health Sciences Core located on the new University hospital campus, will serve as a core infrastructure center for life sciences within the field of health sciences, where research across various branches of health sciences will converge with an emphasis on maximizing shared resources. The core will support research spanning from the synthesis and analysis of bioactive compounds to testing these compounds in cellular models, including work related to drug development.

The core will focus on advancing disease diagnostics and preventive methods to improve public health, with sustainability as a guiding principle. It will provide advanced facilities, including imaging centers, chemical analysis labs, genetic technology labs, well-equipped cell culture facilities, and clinical reception areas. Additionally, the core will offer space for startups, as well as specialized facilities for the development and production of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and industrial biotechnology.
