About the Science Committee

The purpose of the Science Committee is to strengthen research activities at the University of Iceland, and encourage discussion on the nature and function of research in the various fields of study.

Science Ethics Committee

The Science Ethics Committee provides a review on research proposals for lecturers, students, research specialists and other employees at the University of Iceland.

The committee is composed of seven representatives, appointed for three years at a time. The chairperson is appointed by Rector.  Other representatives are appointed by the Centre of Ethics (1) in addition to one from each academic school (5).
