
The grants are intended for researchers who have completed their PhD in the last seven years including those who will graduate before July 1st this year. Time spent on sick leave or parental leave is considered regarding the period since completing the PhD. Grants are awarded for up to three years.
A special committee appointed by the rector will be responsible for evaluating and ranking applications and awarding the grants.
The committee is composed of a one representative from each of the schools from the University of Iceland.
Evaluation of applications shall be based first and foremost on the applicant's research proposal and publications, with consideration of the time elapsed since completing a PhD.
The selection of applicants will be equal between the individual schools, as possible.
