Abstract

Literature: Icelandic occupation literature, Icelandic 20th- and 21st-century fiction, literature and war, memory and trauma, Icelandic-Canadian literature, Canadian immigration and minority literature. In all these areas the main focus of my interest is on cultural identity creation and politics. Language and Culture: Icelandic as a second and heritage language, heritage language studies, the role of culture, literature and identity in the learning and teaching of Icelandic as a second language.
