Abstract

My research focuses on education, educational policy, and leadership, with a particular emphasis on upper secondary education, although my projects also extend to other educational levels. I have examined educational governance and policy-making in the Icelandic school system, teaching practices, workplace mentoring, and instructional coaching. My work has explored the relationship between social equity and students’ backgrounds in shaping school and program choices, as well as professional collaboration among teachers and the working environment of teachers and school leaders, especially in times of crisis. My most recent research interests center on the implementation of the Prosperity Act in Iceland and the ways in which mentoring and instructional coaching in schools may relate to the quality of teaching and learning.
