Are you, or someone you know, starting your undergraduate degree at the University of Iceland this autumn? You could have the chance to receive a scholarship from the Student Achievement and Incentive Fund of the University of Iceland. The fund supports students enrolling at UI with outstanding results on their matriculation exams, or those who have performed well despite difficult circumstances.

The application deadline for the academic year 2026-2027 is 5 June.

The Student Achievement and Incentive Fund has awarded scholarships to nearly 500 undergraduate students at UI since its inception in 2008. Each scholarship amounts to 400,000 ISK.

The recipients are selected based on outstanding results in matriculation exams. They are also selected based on social activity and achievements in other fields, such as sports or the arts. The fund also awards scholarships to students who have made significant progress in their studies and to those who have performed well despite difficult circumstances.

Further information and application form can be found on the university’s website (in Icelandic).
