'Dear students and staff at the University of Iceland,
An orange weather alert has been issued for the Reykjavík area from 7 am to 1 pm tomorrow (Thursday). South-easterly gales and blizzards are forecast, expected to cause dangerous driving conditions and travel disruptions.
Employees are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel and work from home if possible.
Teaching staff are asked to consider whether they could teach remotely and keep students informed.
Please also check the weather forecast tomorrow and evaluate the situation as it unfolds.'
