The 2025 election for rector of the University of Iceland will be held online. Voting will start at 9 am on 18 March and finish at 5 pm on 19 March. The election will be held in Ugla, the UI intranet.

The electoral register has now been finalised and the deadline to appeal for any changes has passed. The total number of voters on the electoral register is 14,557.

This includes 1,752 members of staff and 12,805 students. If you have any trouble voting for personal or technical reasons, staff from the UI Division of Information Technology will be on hand to help. If you need help, please come to the Service Desk in the University Centre between 9 am and 3 pm on either election day.

Since the election will be held online, you should make sure you know your Ugla password because you will not be able to vote without it. If you are on the electoral register click here to vote when the election starts on Tuesday. You will not be able to open this link without a password for Ugla.
