Eight new heads of faculty took office at the University of Iceland on 1 July. They work in four University schools.
School of Social Sciences
- Unnur Dís Skaptadóttir succeeds Ólafur Rastrick as the head of the Faculty of Sociology, Anthropology and Folkloristics.
- Hrefna Friðriksdóttir succeeds Trausti Fannar Valsson as the head of the Faculty of Law.
- Magnús Þór Torfason succeeds Gylfi Magnússon as the head of the Faculty of Business Administration.
School of Humanities
- Arnfríður Guðmundsdóttir succeeds Sólveig Anna Bóadóttir as the head of the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies.
- Gísli Magnússon succeeds Guðrún Björk Guðsteinsdóttir as the head of the Faculty of Languages and Cultures.
School of Education
- Elsa Eiríksdóttir succeeds Rannveig Björk Þorkelsdóttir as the head of the Faculty of Subject Teacher Education.
School of Engineering and Natural Sciences
- Birgir Hrafnkelsson succeeds Einar Örn Sveinbjörnsson as the head of the Faculty of Physical Sciences.
- Hrund Ólöf Andradóttir succeeds Guðmundur Freyr Úlafrsson as the head of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
