A total of 505 candidates receive their diplomas in both undergraduate- and graduate studies from the University of Iceland on Friday 17 February, a record number for a February graduation.

There will be a live stream from the ceremony.

This is the first time in three years that the University can hold a traditional graduation ceremony, so it is especially pleasant to invite candidates and their guests to the University Cinema again after the corona pandemic. Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector of the University of Iceland will address guests at the beginning of the ceremony. Then students from all of the five University schools; School of Social Sciences, School of Health Sciences, School of Humanities, School of Education and School of Engineering and Natural Sciences will graduate.

A total of 181 candidates graduate from the School of Social Sciences, 81 from the School of Health Sciences, 66 from the School of Humanities, 109 from the School of Education, and 68 from the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences. The total number of graduates is 505 with 506 diplomas; a record number for a February graduation.

After the graduation of all candidates Rebekka Karlsdóttir, president of the Student Council, will address the ceremony and the University choir will sing a few songs.

Graduation candidates will be seated in a specified area in Háskólabíó and are kindly asked to be there no later than at 2 pm. A list with the names of candidates and seat numbers will be distributed on graduation day and candidates receive their certificates according to their seat number. University staff will be on site and provide assistance.
