The University of Iceland welcomes nearly new 4.000 students on campus with a special orientation programme taking place between 30 August to 3 September. The programme includes online events and small gatherings on-site due to restrictions on gatherings.

It is, however, a great pleasure to be able to welcome new students and all students at the University on campus this autumn, but a total of 14.700 students is currently enrolled; thereof a record number of around 1,600 of foreign origin.

Supporting new students during their first steps into the university community is a priority, the University thus offers extensive support, and hopefully fun, during orientation.

An information desk for new students will be open all week at the University Centre between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. where representatives from the Student Council greet students, give advice, or have a little chat. New students are welcome to visit the information desk to get answers to all kinds of questions regarding their studies, the social life and support services.

The answers can also be found on our website for new students.

The University of Iceland warmly welcomes all students.
