Guests at Biomedical and Health Sciences conference

Registration and abstract submission for the 20th Biomedical and Health Sciences Conference is now open. The conference will be held on June 2nd and 3rd, digitally and in Hilton Reykjavík Nordica. The conference presents the latest developments in biomedical and health sciences in Iceland. Participation is free and open to everyone.

The conference programme will include oral presentations, micro presentations, interesting keynote speakers and open lectures for the public. There will be an emphasis on interdisciplinary sessions to connect scientists from different fields and sessions in entirely in English. Abstracts will be published on the conference website.  

The School of Health Sciences invites everyone doing research related to biomedical and health sciences to submit an abstract. The deadline for abstract submission is midnight 22nd of March.

The last conference took place in January 2019 with around 1000 participants. The programme included 240 research presentations from most fields of biomedical and health sciences. 

The conference is organised by the School of Health Sciences office in collaboration with a special conference committee. Members of the committee are:

  • Erna Rún Einarsdóttir,  assistant professor at Faculty of Odontology
  • Fanney Þórsdóttir, associate professor at Faculty of Psychology
  • Jóhanna Jakobsdóttir, research specialist at Center of Public Health Sciences
  • Þórarinn Sveinsson, professor at department of Physical Therapy Sciences
