The annual vaccination for staff against influenza is fully booked and it is not possible to add any more sessions. A number of staff members who did not manage to book a slot have contacted Human Resources.
The demand for vaccination in Iceland is high and the University was allocated the same number of doses as last year, despite asking for additional ones.
The University suggests that staff contact the healthcare clinics and encourage everyone to book an appointment there for vaccination. Everyone pays a fee of of ISK 700 and around 2,000 krona for the vaccine itself, if you are not part of a risk group. The University has, however, decided to pay for the vaccination of employees at the healthcare clinics. Please out the form for expenses made (útlagður kostnaður starfsmanna) and send an internal mail to: Reiknngshald, Main Building or email bokhald@hi.is. The receipt must be attached to the from. It is important to fill in the bank information at the top of the form and note the faculty booking number (verknúmer).
Those who belong to risk groups and people over 60 they have priority for vaccination at health clinics. The risk groups are people 60 and older, those with with chronic diseases such as heart, lung, kidney and liver conditions; diabetes, cancer, and various autoimmune syndromes, as well as pregnant women.
