ETH Zürich

A cooperative agreement on student exchange was recently signed with ETH Zurich in Switzerland. The university is placed number nine on the Times Higher Education World University Ranking

ETH was founded in 1855 and places great emphasis on innovation and technology.  Main focus areas include climate change, world food system, energy, health and information processing. The University is comprised of 16 departments, within five competence centres.

Over 19,000 students study at ETH, half in their graduate studies.

Switzerland does not participate in Erasmus+, the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport, but it provides exchange students with a grant for maintenance in the amount of 2100 Swiss francs per semester.

The University is open for both undergraduate students and graduate students, and the first exchange students from the University of Iceland go there next autumn. Applications for exchange studies within Europe for the academic year 2017-2018 remain open till 1 March.
