The book  Iceland’s Financial Crisis:  The Politics of Blame, Protest, and Reconstruction was recently published at Routledge. Editors are Valur Ingimundarson, professor at the University of Iceland, Philippe Urfalino, professor at Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris and Irma Erlingsdóttir, associate professor at the University of Iceland.

The book is interdisciplinary, focusing on political, economic, social and legal reactions to the financial crisis and bank collapse in 2008. Emphasis is placed on ways to tackle "backward-looking elements" and ideas on sociological "renewal." The book consists of three parts: The fist part examines the economic side with reference to foreign and domestic explanations; the second part focuses on the political, social and legal factors. The third part discusses the attempt to rewrite the Icelandic constitution as "forward-looking features."
