The UI Applied Science Prize will be presented for the 18th time 17 November. The selection committee is looking for utilizable ideas from students and staff at the University of Iceland. This year the prize money has been increased considerably, to a total of 3.5 million ISK.
Employees and students from all of the five University schools and affiliated institutes are encouraged to take part, as experience has shown that solutions outside the field of technological solutions in the industry have also played an important role in the competition.
There is a cash prize for the first three places in the competition. Two million ISK for first place, one million ISK for second place and 500 thousand for the third place.
Deadline for proposals is 27 October.

- Whether the utilization is in accordance with UI policy and practises
- The research behind the project/idea
- Innovation and originality
- A benefit to society.
- To what extent the prize money will be of use in utilizing the project/idea
