Flags on a table at University centre

The University of Iceland received its third acknowledgement from the StudyPortals Association for the year 2015, measuring international student satisfaction whilst studying abroad. The University of Iceland received the grade 9+; the highest grade being 10. The international students gave the University the same grade last year.

Universities in Ireland ranked highest among international students according to a news article from Study Portals, however, satisfaction with universities in Scandinavia was high as in previous years.

Students studying in Scandinavia appreciated the well organised support services, the quality of teaching and even the extreme weather condition, they would, however, have preferred slightly lower costs of living. On the other hand, students from Scandinavia were not as pleased with their stay abroad.

The University of Gothenburg received the highest grade of all the Scandinavian universities. International students studying there appreciated new approaches to teaching, no tuition fees, the variety of social activities organised by the faculties, proactive administrative staff and challenging courses.

The student survey is in the form of a questionnaire about individual experience of studying abroad. The students give a grade from 0 – 10 giving a rationale for their grade. The universities that receive the best scores receive an acknowledgement from the StudyPortals Award for International Student Satisfaction.

This annual survey provides vital information on the experience of exchange students; what is to their liking and what can be improved. Furthermore, the results facilitate the choice of university for students who wish to study abroad.
