Jón Atli Benediktsson, the new Rector of the University of Iceland, conducted his first meeting as chair of the University Council last week.
The University Council shall demarcate overall teaching and research policy and shape the structural organisation of the University. The University Council shall conduct general supervision of University, school and institute operations and shall be responsible for ensuring that the University operates in compliance with legislation and official edicts.
