Jón Atli Benediktsson, Professor at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering, will take office as Rector of the University of Iceland; succeeding Kristín Ingólfsdóttir, Professor in Pharmacology, at the inauguration ceremony at the University of Iceland on Tuesday, 30 June at 2. p.m.
After Ebba Þóra Hvannberg, Professor of Computer Sciences and vice chair of the University of Council, has opened the ceremony; Kristín Ingólfsdóttir, the current Rector will address the assembly and hand the Rector emblem over to her successor; Jón Atli Benediktsson, who will give his inauguration speech.
There will be musical performance at the ceremony that will be held in Icelandic.
