Elections for the post of rector at the University of Iceland will take place on Monday 13 April. The University of Iceland has opened information pages on both its Icelandic and English websites. Posts include information on candidates and links to their websites, as well as details on the execution of the elections. The same information can also be found on the University of Iceland intranet; Ugla. Furthermore a discussion thread has been created in Ugla – Rektorskjör 2015, accessible to both University students and staff.
Electoral Rolls
There are over fourteen thousand potential voters on the electoral roll, 1,485 employees and 12,625 students. A printout of the electoral roll is available from the information desk in the foyer of the University of Iceland Main Building until 1 p.m. 23 March. Voters can also check in Ugla whether they appear on the electoral roll, and the weighting of their vote.
Employees’ right to vote is subject to their employment ratio but all students registered at the University of Iceland on 12 March 2015 have the right to vote. As ruled by the election board the elections for rector will be electronic and take place in Ugla – the University of Iceland Intranet.
