Diploma studies in Nurse Anaesthesia at the graduate level at the University of Iceland Faculty of Nursing received last October a certification of the International Federation of Nurse Anaesthetists, IFNA. The programme underwent evaluation in order to ensure that the highest educational standards of IFNA were met.
One of the main goals of the International Federation of Nurse Anaesthetists is to strengthen quality education in the field of nurse Anaesthesia in the world. IFNA representatives came to visit the University of Iceland in the final stages of the evaluation to inspect facilities and meet with employees of the Faculty of Nursing and Landspítali – University Hospital that are involved in administration, teaching, and organisation of the programme. The certification is valid for 5 years and will thus be renewed in October 2019.
