Kælan mikla at university concert

University concerts have been organised on campus for half a century. This academic year there is a new organiser and artistic director, Dr. Arnar Eggert Thoroddsen, adjunct lecturer in sociology, who says he is guided by the slogan "University for all - Music for all." He has thus put on concerts in a variety of genres; from dreamy chamber music and jazz to Gothic dark pop and country music.

All concerts have been broadcast live online. The last concert featured the musician Krummi Björgvinsson who performed live from the Student Cellar, including his latest single, Naglar og salt, a cover of the famous Rock Salt & Nails by Utah Phillips. Krummi and Bjarni Sigurðarson perform the song here above but the whole concert and all the concerts this academic year can be accessed on the University of Iceland's website.
