The University of Iceland invites University students and staff to submit original and innovative ideas for the annual Science and Innovation Award. The application deadline is 18 March.
The UI Science and Innovation Award is a competition for innovative ideas that may contribute to society or industry, regardless of whether they offer a financial benefit.
Prizes will be awarded for the best idea in four categories: Health and well-being, Technology and progress, Society, and Motivation. Additionally, the overall winner of the competition will be selected from one of the above-mentioned categories. There is much to gain for participants; the cash prize for first place is 2.5 million krona.
The selection committee looks to novelty and originality in their evaluation, as well as to implementation and benefits to society, especially in line with the UN's Development goals, and to whether the project aligns with the University's policies and supports its activities.
