Welcome to the University of Iceland

The International Staff Days offer a valuable opportunity to develop both personal and professional skills related to internationalisation and higher education cooperation, while networking with colleagues from other universities. 

The theme is Sustainable Partnerships and Responsible Internationalisation: Decision Making and Information Sharing. Focus will be on various factors that contribute to openness in research and cooperation, practical guidance, decision making and awareness in collaboration. 

We invite staff from international offices as well as administrative staff dealing with international cooperation in general.

Practical Information

The programme combines sessions, presentations and networking opportunities, alongside social activities. Participants will explore key topics in internationalisation while also getting to know the University of Iceland and Reykjavík.

The sessions address key themes in internationalisation, focusing on sustainable partnerships, responsible cooperation, and the broader network landscape. Participants will gain practical insights and exchange experiences relevant to their work in international higher education.

Application Deadline: 20 June 2026

Price: EUR 190

Funding: Erasmus+ funding may be available for participants from Erasmus+ partner institutions (contact your home institution for details).

Limited places available and capped at two participants per university. Priority will be given to staff from partner institutions of the University of Iceland. All applicants will be informed of the results of the selection committee by July 10, 2026.

The University of Iceland is a progressive, comprehensive educational and research institution, recognised internationally for its strong contribution to science and scholarship. It is a public university located in the heart of Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland, and was founded in 1911. Today, the University has approximately 13,500 students.
