The objectives of the network are to strengthen and promote the higher education system in Iceland, to achieve more efficient use of resources, and to ensure a range of options for quality higher education throughout the country.
Members of the network are:
- University of Iceland
- University of Akureyri
- Agricultural University of Iceland
- Hólar University College
The project managers for the network are:
- Halldór Jónsson, Director of the Division of Science and Innovation
- Sæunn Stefánsdóttir, Director of the University of Iceland's Institute of Research Centres and consultant to the Rector's Office.
The Network was established in August 2010 following a policy document published by the Ministry for Education and Culture.
