Orientation days

Join our Orientation Days and prepare for a successful start at the University of Iceland!

During Orientation Days, you will get to know your fellow international and local students, find your way around campus and learn about the services and support available to you. The programme is designed to help you settle in and make the most of your studies from day one, which aligns with the general aim of orientation activities at the university. 

Please note that degree students (full-time international students) are welcomed by their respective schools and will receive further information directly from their faculty. However, they are welcome to participate in selected social events and guided tours during Orientation Days.

This year, Orientation Days will take place over two weeks in August:

Week 1: 17–21 August
For exchange students at:

• School of Education
• School of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

Week 2: 24–28 August
For exchange students at:

• School of Social Sciences
• School of Humanities.

Joint events
Some social events are organised jointly during Week 2 and are open to all exchange students regardless of their orientation week. These include Welcome Reception, Guided tours and ESN events.

A detailed programme will be published at a later date.
