- The subsistence grant for longer stays are from 550-700€ a month.
- For shorter stays (5-14 days) the grant is 79€ a day and from then onwards (15-30 days) the grant is 56€ a day. The maximum number of funded days for shorter stays are 30 days.
- The travel grants are from 309-1735€ depending on the destination.
If the travel grant only covers 70% of actual travel costs or less, even though you have chosen the most economical way of travelling, you may apply for additional support for expensive travel. If approved, the increased travel grant will cover up to a maximum of 80% of actual travel costs.
If the participant demonstrates that the main mode of travel has been environmentally friendly (based on the number of kilometers), an additional grant of between 30-80€ is provided.
Students may apply for a top-up grant for students with fewer opportunities. Those who are eligible receive a top-up amount to the subsistence grant. Students going on long-term mobility receive a fixed amount of 250 euros per month in addition to the monthly subsistence grant. For shorter mobility, the fixed amount is 100 euros for 5-14 days and 150 euros for 15-30 days.
The criteria for fewer opportunities are:
- Students that are immigrants or a child of immigrant(s)*
- Students with a refugee status
- Students with health problems: This includes severe illnesses, chronic diseases, or any other physical or mental health-related situation
- Students with a disability/disabilities: This includes physical, mental, intellectual, learning disabilities or sensory impairments
- Students that have a child/children under the age of 18
From the academic year 2025-2026, these criteria will be added:
- Students with economic barriers
- Students with geographical barriers
*An immigrant is a person who was born abroad and has parents and grandparents who were all born abroad. Second-generation immigrants are individuals who were born in Iceland and have a parent who is an immigrant.
Note that even if students meet more than one criteria the grant is not multiplied.
Students may apply for an Erasmus+ supplementary grant for disability or illness.
