If Icelandic is not your native language, but you are still thinking about applying for a study programme taught in Icelandic, you should bear in mind that advanced Icelandic language skills are required.
You must have the proficiency required to be able to follow lectures, submit assignments and sit exams in Icelandic without assistance. Keep in mind that some departments may check your Icelandic language skills through interviews, or by other means, before accepting applications.
Before applying, you are encouraged to self-assess your skills based on the Council of Europe's self-assessment framework. A proficiency level of B2 is considered to be the minimum.
