Abstract

Ásdís Arnalds is an assistant professor at the University of Iceland's Faculty of Social Work. She earned her PhD in social work from the University of Iceland in 2020, with a focus on the impact of Icelandic parental leave legislation on gendered work and care practices. Her research interests include gender equality, parental leave policies, and family dynamics. Arnalds has led and collaborated on numerous research projects, examining topics such as fertility intentions and the intersection of work and family life. Her work is published journals including Acta Sociologica, Journal of Family Studies, and Community, Work and Family.
