How can we collaborate more effectively with children and youth in research on matters concerning them and co-construct pathways for their voice and transformative agency?
This online workshop introduces Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) as a framework to build young people's voice and agency. The workshop will be in English October 9th, 2:00 – 4:00 PM on Zoom. Zoom - join link here
Workshop is designed for academic staff, researchers, university teachers, PhD students, practitioners, professionals, and others committed to finding new and effective ways to collaborate with children and youth in research and praxis.
The workshop will be conducted by Dave McPartlan of the University of Cumbria and Dane Stickney of the University of Colorado Denver. They are YPAR researchers who regularly engage young people investigating and reforming school- and community-based issues..
During this online workshop, participants will learn about the YPAR framework, share and explore methods and approaches, and hear powerful stories of youth activism in Britain and America.
This workshop is a prelude to their visit later in October, during which they hope to engage with both youth and adult practitioners.
