Affordable service for students

Icelandic Student Services, commonly known as FS (Félagsstofnun stúdenta) is a nonprofit organisation with independent finances. The organisation's main goal is to provide high-quality services at a price that is affordable for students. 

Members are all registered students at the University of Iceland.

Current FS services:
  • The University Bookstore sells textbooks and other study materials.
  • The student preschools offer childcare and a quality curriculum, HighScope.
  • Student Housing offers low-rent rooms at apartments for UI students. Housing is well-located and there are options suitable for individuals or families.
  • Háma canteens can be found in the University Centre, the University Cinema, the Centre for Technical Innovation, the National Library, Oddi, Askja, Læknagarður, Eirberg and Stakkahlíð. Háma offers fresh, healthy and affordable choices in sandwiches, salads, hot meals for lunch, and all kinds of healthy snacks made on the premises. Háma salad bar is located in the University Centre.
  • The Student Cellar is a café, restaurant and bar serving students, staff and others. The Student Cellar is also a great venue for gigs and other events.
  • The Bookstore Café is located in the University Bookstore. They sell quality coffee and confectionery at a student's price range.
  • The student co-op is also located in the University Bookstore.
