The University of Iceland graduates students three times a year; in February, June, and October. The next graduation will take place on Friday, 26 February 2026 at Háskólabíó (University Cinema). Graduates receive their certificates at a festive ceremony.
Graduation candidates will be seated in a specified area in Háskólabíó and are kindly asked to arrive no later than 2:30 pm. A list with the names of candidates and seat numbers will be distributed on graduation day and candidates will receive their certificates according to their seat number.
University staff will be on site and provide assistance if needed.
The certificates will be presented by University Schools:
- School of Social Sciences
- School of Health Sciences
- School of Humanities
- School of Education
- School of Engineering and Natural Sciences
Graduates will receive a letter with further information.
Students who intend to graduate shall specify the graduation month well in advance of the scheduled graduation date. This can be done in the Ugla intraweb, when reviewing course registration, autumn and spring.
The candidates who cannot attend the ceremony can collect their certificates at the Service desk in the University Centre, after the ceremony.
