If handled correctly, AI can be a powerful tool for simplifying and expediting tasks. In this context, the University of Iceland believes it is important for students and instructors to follow these basic principles:

  • The use of AI for teaching and learning must comply with all University standards, from both technical and ethical perspectives.
  • The same rules apply to using AI in teaching and learning as to other sources and aids; sources must be cited by standard procedures at the University.
  • The same ethical standards and obligations apply to using AI in teaching and learning as to using other tools and technology.
  • The same rules apply to the misuse of AI in teaching and learning as to all other academic misconduct.
