International students:
Students with Icelandic or Nordic citizenship:
MA in theology with a first class grade (7.25) or equivalent qualification. Applicants who have completed a mag. theol. or cand. theol. degree from the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies must complete the MA in theology at the Faculty before applying for doctoral studies.
The doctoral programme in theology is a three-year postgraduate course of research-based study. The programme is 180 ECTS and confers the title of Philosophiae Doctor, PhD. Students must be registered and pay the registration fee for the duration of the period of study. Doctoral programmes are subject to the Regulation on doctoral study and doctoral degrees at the School of Humanities.
