Students from the EU/EEA may apply for an Erasmus+ grant to undertake a traineeship or work placement at the University of Iceland.
Traineeships last for a minimum of 2 months and a maximum of 12 months.
Please note that you will need to apply for the grant to your sending institution, NOT to the University of Iceland.
To qualify for a traineeship, you must be enrolled in a degree programme at an institute of higher education. If the traineeship forms an integral part of your curriculum, the University of Iceland will award ECTS credits for the period of the traineeship. If the traineeship does not form part of your curriculum, the University will award a certificate of recognition.
Currently, the University of Iceland does not provide a list of available traineeships and there is no official application process. Instead, traineeships are undertaken on a case-by-case basis.
Students wishing to undertake a traineeship must contact the relevant department or a professor/researcher working in their field of interest and request a work placement. Requests should include a statement of purpose and curriculum vitae.
Please note that placements cannot be guaranteed.
