Menntakvika, the annual conference of the School of Education at the University of Iceland, will be held in Saga, the new building of the School of Education, on October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2025, marking its 29th edition.

The theme of this year's Menntakvika is:
Creative Approaches in School and extended education: Shaping a New Future.

The goal of the Menntakvika conference is to introduce and disseminate current topics in education and related fields. This year, we are also celebrating the move to Saga and inviting guests to explore the facilities and the opportunities it offers. On Saturday, October 4th, creative workshops and booths will take place in the impressive new premises of the School of Education, providing a valuable opportunity for collaboration between academia and professional practice.

The School of Education invites all those conducting research in education and related disciplines to participate in the conference, as well as all staff from other institutions working on relevant topics.
It will be possible to attend the sessions via Zoom, although the sessions will not be recorded.

The conference is open to all and free of charge.

As in previous years, abstracts are accepted for individual presentations, pre-organized symposium, and posters.
This year, we are introducing a new feature: Creative workshops and booths, which will be held on Saturday, October 4th.

    • Booths: An open booth where you present an idea, tool, or engage in open conversation with attendees (2–3 hours).

    • Workshop: You invite participants to explore and try out tools, methods, ideas, or technologies useful in educational or leisure settings or in research (30–45 minutes).
