The Power of Few: The Role of Teacher Collaboration and School Culture in Adapting to Sudden Disruptions in Upper Secondary Education.
This research examines how the COVID-19 pandemic revealed teachers’ social capital, collegial relationships and school culture in three Icelandic upper secondary schools.
The evaluation is in two parts: First the doctoral student ‘s presentation of his report at 1 -2 pm in room K-103 in Stakkahlíð. The presentation is open to postgraduate students and staff of the School of Education. The presentation will be on Zoom: https://eu01web.zoom.us/j/66135682347
Secondly, a review meeting for a discussion of the report. The meeting is open only to the doctoral student and the evaluation committee. The purpose of the evaluation is twofold, as the rules of the Doctoral School indicate: To evaluate the doctoral student‘s competence in conducting the proposed doctoral research project and to provide her with feedback to do this as well as may be.
External examiners are Dr Geert Kelchtemans Professor at Centre for Innovation and the Development of Teacher and School, Leuven, Belgium and Dr Berglind Rós Magnúsdóttir Professor at Faculty of education and diversity, School of Education, UI. Main supervisor is Dr Guðrún Ragnarsdóttir Professor, at the School of Education, University of Iceland, co-supervisor Dr Súsanna Margrét Gestsdóttir Assistant Professor at the School of Education, University of Iceland. Dr Annadís Greta Rúdólfsdóttir Professor at School of Education, is heading the evaluation committee and will conduct the evaluation meeting and Sigrún Sif Eyfeld Jóelsdóttir will act as secretary.
