Gender-based violence in youth culture in Iceland

The project examines how gender-based violence (GBV) is represented and discussed in two settings that shape youth understanding, educational content, and youth culture. Through critical discourse analysis, it reveals gaps between educational material and young people's lived experiences, highlighting the need for more inclusive, intersectional GBV education.

The evaluation is in two parts: First the doctoral student ‘s presentation of his report at 1 -2 pm on Zoom. The presentation is open to postgraduate students and staff of the School of Education. The presentation will be on Zoom: https://eu01web.zoom.us/j/65906280702           

Secondly, a review meeting for a discussion of the report. The meeting is open only to the doctoral student and the evaluation committee. The purpose of the evaluation is twofold, as the rules of the Doctoral School indicate: To evaluate the doctoral student‘s competence in conducting the proposed doctoral research project and to provide her with feedback to do this as well as may be.

External examiners are Dr Hannah Frith Associate Professor at the University of Surrey, England and Dr Ingólfur Ásgeir Jóhannesson Professor Emeritus at the School of Education, University of Iceland. Lead supervisor is Dr Brynja Elísabeth Halldórsdóttir Associate Professor at the School of Education, University of Iceland and co-supervisor Dr Annadís Greta Rúdólfsdóttir Professor at the School of Education, University of Iceland. Dr Íris Ellenberger is heading the evaluation committee and will conduct the evaluation meeting and Dr Steingerður Ólafsdóttir will act as secretary.
