The Creative Industries Research Center (RSG), in collaboration with CCP, invites you to a discussion on creative industries on Tuesday, February 11th from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the CCP offices in Gróska, 3rd floor, at Bjargargata 1, 102 Reykjavik. The topic of this meeting is Innovation in the music industry. The meeting will be held in Icelandic and presentations will be streamed online.
In the meeting, Ólafur Bjarki Bogason, CEO of Genki, talks about the company and its journey up to today. Ólafur is the founder and CEO of Genki, a design and technology company from Reykjavík with a focus on music. Genki's products have been used all over the world to great acclaim. Genki's latest product is KATLA, a unique synthesizer inspired by Iceland's second largest volcano.
Margrét Júlíana Sigurðardóttir is the founder and CEO of Moombix,, which offers a learning space and marketplace for live online music education. In the learning space, the company has developed a comprehensive environment for music lessons with digital tools that can support the music learning in various ways. In the meeting, Margrét tells us about Moombix which was founded in 2022.
Pétur Eggerz is the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Overtune, an Icelandic music creation company that has captured attention with its impressive roster of investors and notable partnerships. Recognized as one of Europe’s top startups to watch, Overtune continues to make waves in the industry. Pétur will tell us about Overtune and innovation in music creation.
Following the presentations, the streaming will end and attendees are invited to participate in a discussion on the subject, led by Anna Hildur Hildibrandsdóttir.
Dialogue on Creative Industries is a series of informal meetings organized by RSG in collaboration with CCP. Through this series, RSG aims to create a forum for discussion among those interested in creative industries by connecting stakeholders from the private sector, academia, as well as institutions and government, and thereby promoting the dialogue on culture and creative industries.
