Why does your lived experience matter?
In a time of rapidly evolving technology, moral dilemmas, and conflicting ideals, how can we understand ourselves? In a complex reality of varying cultural backgrounds and differing opinions, how can we communicate effectively?
When thinking about the views we hold, our history and situation in society, we are thinking about our lived experience of the world. Understanding and communicating this experience to others is important for being oriented in reality and having a sense of belonging.
Everyone is welcome!
No prior knowledge of philosophy is required!! The goal is to create a space where different individuals come together to share and discuss their experiences and opinions in a meaningful way.
Some topics
If you’ve ever wondered about what it is to exist and/or experience, this workshop is for you! Other questions that we will cover:
- What am I and does it matter?
- Can AI experience anything?
- What is it like to be at home?
- Is “Othering” necessary?
While some main theoretical ideas of philosophy and phenomenology will be taught, questions like these will be tackled by the participants. More questions/topics will definitely arise!
There is a time and place for these sorts of questions. Time: the workshop will be taught in four weekly sessions, starting on the 22nd of September at 15:00 - 17:00. Place: Setberg, classroom 305 (third floor).
